The Pushkin Museum’s Shchukin and Morozov Collection
"Shchukin and Morozov Collection"
is a world-famous collection of French modern paintings. Some
of the renowned paintings, mainly the ones from impressionism
that the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow, Russia
is proud of, have finally come to Japan. Sergei Shchukin and
Ivan Morozov enthusiastically collected French modern paintings
in Paris and completed a high quality collection. In addition
to 25 prints Pushkin Museum owns, 50 highly-selected masterpieces
are exhibited in this exhibition such as "Goldfish"
of Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso's early work "Harlequin
and his Companion," and Claude Monet's "White Water
Lilies," showing his typical painting style.
